Skyrim Landscape Mods 2026 (Including Water Mods)

Introduction

I consider Skyrim to still look good even after 15 years (yes 15 years!) so usually I don't go into Landscape mods that much anymore. However, recently I looked through nexus mods and found some new stuff I'd like to share with you all. The list is a bit random and you probably find something more specific on other sites but I like share it regardless. I'm sure there is something for everybody passing by :)

1. Realistic Water Two

Have promised it in the title and there it is: The water mod that still looks vanilla but better. Realistic Water Two in my opinion is the mod to go to if you want to make details in your water just a tiny tiny bit better. The texture itself isn't changed high level detail wise but there are some low level fine details which makes this mod worth to download. You see more differences if you look at water with motion like waterfalls or little slides. If you're a fan of vanilla aspects and want to keep the vanilla feeling then this water mod is worth to consider!

2. Skoglendi - A Grass Mod

Okay even though I said I like vanilla mods the most I will lie on this one. Skoglendi - A Grass Mod is not a vanilla mod and will change the landscape of skyrim lots. Like really lots, the vibrant colors make this mod stand out the most. You also have very nice bits of grass with massively detailed textures. It's more of a power hungry mod so if you're still running an older system (which makes sense in the current RAM crisis), then this mod could eat up some FPS. If you do have spare performance then check this mod out.

3. HD Remastered Bridges - Complex Parallax

Now to some bridges. They are the cornerstone of anyone who doesn't want to become wet but also wants to cross a river or sea. Having ugly bridges sucks. Here is a cool mod that makes the bridges look better, enter HD Remastered Bridges - Complex Parallax - 8k 4k 2k 1k. This is the final boss of bridges mods if you want 8k high end, next gen graphics on your bridge textures. The textures are so it will eat half your VRAM on your graphics card but hey, it's worth if you, again, have spare performance and want to go to the absolute limit.

However if you don't, well then just download the 1k or 2k resolutions, they all look good!

4. ScandaNordic Mountains - HD Mountain Textures

From man-made objects to nature-made objects: Mountains! With ScandaNordic Mountains - HD Mountain Textures you get very detailed mountain textures for Skyrim. This mod also comes with different sizes for the textures like 1k, 2k, 4k and 8k so you can choose again which fits best for your system. I recommend going with 2k atleast so you can distinct visual changes. The textures look glorious on snowy mountains so it underlines the vanilla feeling even more.

5. HD Remastered Blended Roads

If you reached the end of the list and thought to yourself: "Well none of these mods make my FPS go below 60, you got anything else?" then you will hit those now with this mod. This mod is the HD Remastered Blended Roads and it's pretty cool I can tell you. You remember those patchy small stones on certain parts of the road? Yes? Those are the stones that get some love now. This mod gives them an entire retexture and again, you can go up to 8k resolution with those details. It's insanity in my opinion because you hardly see those details unless you stand still and go up close. But if you want to overhaul the entire game at this point, then start with those rocks first!
