Introduction

Stardew Valley is a great game made by only 1 Person in the span of over 4 years. The Game is a sim where you take over your Grandfathers farm. The game is open-ended which means you can play indefinetely while you grow your crops, interact with the towns people and at some point marry and have children. It's also possible to play the game in multiplayer! Today we gonna present you some cool facts which may have not known before.

Fact 1: The Game was made by 1 Person

The entire Game was made by  Eric Barone aka "ConcernedApe". He worked on the game for over 4 years, 10 hours a day, everyday!

The reason for the long development and long working hours was due to the fact, that Barone actually coded the entire System from the Ground up for the game. He also created the Art Pieces and the music. In other words: He created everything himself.

It's a big feat to develop such a game completely on your own. Hats off!

Fact 2: The Game sold over 34 million copies

For a indie title, that's a very crazy number. For indie games that's a very very big number. Even compared to Triple A titles, it outmaches probably 99% of every big blockbuster game that has come out in the past 10 years. Pretty sure Barone haven't thought to have such a big impact with his title on gamers, especially if you think about the fact that he purely made the game as a portfolio project initially.

Fact 3: Insane Modding Community

The game has easily one of the biggest modding communities ever. If you have a look at nexusmods, you can see that in total 381 MILLION mods have been downloaded from that site alone. Factor in Steam workshop mods and others, and you'll get an even bigger number. Surely compared to other games like Skyrim the modding community seems small but consider that this is the only installment of the Stardew Valley franchise. Similar to minecraft this game has made a massive impact on gaming and it deserves every bit of credit here.
