How to get ALL Companions in Baldurs Gate 3

Introduction

In Baldurs Gate 3 you can aquire a total of 10 Companions. In this short Guide we will show you, where and how to aquire them!

Lae'zel

Lae'zel

You will encounter her very early in your Playthrough on the Ship. After you land, she will be held captive.

Free her and you can recruit her finally.

Shadowheart

Bae Shadowheart

You can recruit her pretty easily. She is trapped with you on the Ship where you can (and should) recruit her. She has a very interesting questline later on. Free her and she will gladly join!

Karlach

Real life Succubus (sort of)

Karlach is a bit more complicated. You will have to right couple of lying Paladins in a house in the east to gain her trust. To find her more easily, we recommend to get Wyll, because he will lead you right to her. She is a charming, simple character and worth to fight for!

Minthara

Minthara

You can recruit her by choosing to side with the Goblins, when fighting for the Hain. You will be able to get her into your team after the Quest has finished. Be careful though: If you recruit her, you won't be able to recruit Halsin.

Jaheira

Jaheira

in Act 2 you will be able to recruit her once you enter the town in the Abyss. She will give you information about Ketheric Thorm and is waiting for you in the tavern.

Gale

Galeeee

He is a bit trickier: You will encounter a Portal very early in Act 1. His hand is sticking out of that where you can choose to either cut of his hand (which will lead to not being able to recruit him) or to help him out. If you manage to roll successfully you will drag him out of the portal and he will join your group.

Astarion

Sneaky Vampire

If you are interested to get this psycho vampire boy, then you have to head west after you land on the Beach (Act 1) and at some point he will ambush you with a cutscene. You can headbutt him or go the peaceful route. Either way, he will join afterwards.

Halsin

You can't see it but this guy is huuugee

You first need to rescue him from the Goblin Village in Act 1. You will have to fight your way through all of them to get him out of there. Afterwards you can recruit him to your party. Be careful though: If you happen to side with the goblins to fight the Hain, you will lose him as a member of your party.

Minsc

Muscle Boy Minsc

Minsc is a old-school character from BG1 and BG2. You will encounter him very late in the game: Act 3.

You will have to fight him in the catacombs of Baldurs Gate, where he is being manipulated. You can either kill him (which would mean you can't recruit him anymore) or you can damage him to be very low life, and then make him unconscious. After the fight is over, he will come to sense and wants to join your group.
